This year for mom's birthday I got her 2 tickets to go see Stars on Ice. We were both so excited since Evan Lysacek and Sasha Cohen were there, as well as many others! It was so much fun and now we're planning to go next year for the 25th anniversary! Can't wait! Love you mom and happy early birthday!!

Choke Canyon State Park

Last weekend we went camping at Choke Canyon State Park with my parents, my brother, and my grandparents. It was really humid, but luckily we stayed in cabins that had air conditioning!! The guys had a blast because all day Saturday they went fishing! They caught a ton of catfish and we even had a fish fry that same night.

Spring Pictures

A few weeks ago the wild flowers here were amazing! My sister-in-law Judith was nice enough to take some pictures of us in the surrounding area.

Signs of Spring

I love this time of year! I love seeing the new growth on all the trees and bushes and watching the grass get greener and greener every day. I've always seen it as a fresh start, but this year it means so much more to me. I love seeing the flowers blooming too. They show that even they can overcome the rough winter they went through.

With that being said, I am looking forward to this Spring and Summer. It's a fresh start for Jesse and I. We both have started new jobs and have a new-found appreciation for each other. We also have a lot of hope towards the future. We are both in school and can't wait to finish to see what lies ahead for each of us. I also love the beginning of Spring because it's around our anniversary. On March 29th we will be celebrating 2 years of marriage. It hasn't been the easiest 2 years, but it's definitely been worth. I love being married to my best friend and my sweetheart. I love you Jesse!!

I couldn't figure out what to call this post, so I'm not going to place a title on this one. This week has been a very exciting and sad week for Jesse and I.

We found out on Monday that we were pregnant. We couldn't believe it since we had been told that there was such a slim chance. We were so shocked since we had been trying for more than a year. Unfortunately, the excitement never got to set in. On Tuesday morning Jesse had to take me to the hospital because I was having very bad pain in my abdomen. After a few hours of testing and ultrasounds, the ob/gyn in the ER told us the devastating news that we had an ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) and had to have surgery immediately. I don't think either of us have ever been so upset before.

After surgery I woke up with half a fallopian tube gone, no pregnancy, and some new scars. It's not easy to digest it all, but I am on bed rest for the time-being and just trying to take in everything that has occurred. The most exciting part for us is the fact that we got pregnant. I feel like we have a lot more hope now since we have had so much disappointment over the last year. There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel and we can't wait to get to it! It'll be another adventure, but it will be so much more worth it! I am so thankful that I have Jesse to help me. He has been absolutely wonderful. He has been the greatest partner that one could ever ask for! I love him so much!

My Dad's 40th Birthday

My dad's 40th birthday was on January 14th, so the Saturday after we went down to Randolph Air Force Base and went bowling with my family and some of their friends. It was a lot of fun!

Dad was so funny in his birthday hat!!

Me and Jesse in between turns.

Here's Dad bowling in his hat. He claimed it helped him bowl better.

Here's Mom bowling. Mom is known for being the worst at games, but she surprisingly did really well at bowling!!

This is Jesse bowling.

Half-bath project

Every year I like to complete at least one project that I am proud of to start off the new year. In 2009, I compiled pictures from 2008 and made a big picture frame of it! That is still hanging up in our living room and it's nice to look at it and remember all the fun we had our first year of being married! This year, I decided to paint our half-bath downstairs. It took me a while to figure out what color I was going to paint it, but once I did it didn't take me long to get this project done! I am so pleased with how it turned out too!!
