Update!

First of all, I just want to apologize to all those that I have let down. I am terribly sorry that I have not kept our blog up-to-date. I know, there really are no excuses! Hehe! :P

Things are going good in the Nicholas household. We recently purchased new furniture for the living room! We've been looking at getting new furniture for the last few months and it took a while to find exactly what we wanted!! It's nice to allow more than 3 people to sit down at the same time! Haha!

In addition to the new couch, we got a new puppy!! A co-worker of mine gave me a dachshund puppy. He was 12 weeks old when we got him and we named him Presley! He's very adorable and lovable! He loves to cuddle and sleep all of the time. When he is awake, he is constantly playing with his new big brother and sister. It took Rowdy and Molly some adjusting to get used to him, but now they are all pals. They have a bed that all share and it is so cute to see them all sleeping together. It really warms the heart!

On top of all of this, I decided to start my own business. I am an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. I love it so far! It really helps that I've always loved wearing make-up!! I even have my own website! The website is www.marykay.com/knicholas2 Check it out!! I'm very excited to see how this endeavor turns out!! It should be interesting!

Jesse is busy working away as always. He and our neighbor have started a workout routine that includes running and lifting weights. It's fun to watch the transformation in him. He's had so much extra energy and has been very positive about everything!! I'm very excited and happy for him!!

Mitch's Reception

Jesse's cousin once removed (I think!!!) had a wedding reception in Longview, Texas. It was a mere 4 hours away, so we were able to go!! I got to meet some of his family that I hadn't met before! It was quite exciting! They were all so loving and welcomed me right in!

I would have taken more pictures, but the battery was on the verge of dying. So I would take one picture and then turn it off. And then I would forget I even had the camera. :/

Hamilton Pools

So I heard about this really neat place called Hamilton Pools from a vendor we use at work. We decided to go check it out with our neighbors one day and we had a blast! It's about an hour drive from here, and then you have to wait about 30 minutes to get in. They only allow 50 cars, so you have to wait for 1 to leave for another car to enter. It all goes by pretty fast, luckily! It's about a 1/4 mile hike down to the pool and it's so neat!!! The hike goes by pretty fast since it's shaded the entire time by really big trees. The water was really cold since it's all from the Pedernales River. Here are some pics! There aren't a whole lot of pictures, but it's easier than putting them in here individually! :D

Tuscan Dreams

We painted a few accent walls at work a Barnyard Red, and I started to get the itch to paint our house! So far we only have one room done. We can't decide on the other colors at this point. The kitchen was very easy to decide on. We went for a Tuscan Red. It's a very dark red. It took us all day on a Saturday to paint the kitchen, but it was worth it!

Here is the before picture!

Molly was calm as can be. Just relaxing as we did all the work! lol

They were so funny trying to watch Jesse! At one point, Rowdy fell off the window sill. I don't know how he didn't end up with paint all over him!

We had to put the pups into the crate because they were getting too close to the paint.. Isn't she adorable?

Here is the final project! We love it! I just realized we didn't put the green ivy back up at the top!!! Oops!!!

Smithville Trip

Jesse and I went out to Smithville one evening to visit my Great Uncle Sam and Aunt Leann. They have a bunch of horses so they were showing us all of their horses and their property. It was really neat. It was so quiet out there, too!
Here's a slide show of their horses!

I am super excited for Kori! You can listen to some of her songs at her website: www.korijeanolsen.com! Kori is a beautiful woman and I can't wait to see succeed!

Alisa's Wedding

Alisa is a girl that Jesse has known since he was in diapers. She recently had a beautiful wedding and here are a few pictures!

This is the bride and groom's first dance. They were a really cute couple and looked so happy! Her dress was stunning, as well!

Here's a picture of my sister-in-law, Judith and I.

Here is one of the few serious pictures we have. lol

True love... picking each other's noses! ;)

This is us just being silly. Nothing new here!

This is the plantation that Alisa's wedding was. Her reception and ceremony were outside, but it was still a beautiful touch and added class to the wedding. It was like a dream home inside!!

Seaworld Fun!

The last weekend of May we went down to Seaworld with the Mittelstadts. (Thanks Mom & Dad for letting us crash at your place, btw!!!) It was a blast! The last time I went to Seaworld I was about 10 years old. All I remember were the kiddie rides, only because they were so boring! haha!

Everyone knows that you can't go to Seaworld and not go and see Shamu. We went to the first show of the day! Now, I don't know if maybe I was just really emotional or what, but I found the show very touching. It was just absolutely amazing to see these large animals swimming with humans. You could really see and feel the love that the whales and trainers had for each other. The beginning of the show was the most powerful. They tell a story of a young boy with very powerful music, and then all of a sudden 2 whales come out of the water. They start to jump out of the water in all different places. Absolutely stunning. I teared up a few times throughout the show. Corny, I know. Here are a few pictures below.

After Shamu, we went to see the dolphins and beluga whales show. That was a fun show. It was more about the acrobats than the actual animals. I didn't care for that very much. I was shocked at how high the dolphins could jump. The beluga whale that is pictured below had a baby who followed her everywhere. It was really cute. The baby wouldn't do the tricks, but she was always right behind mama's tale.

The rest of the day was pretty fun. It started to get really hot and we were all very tired, so we went back to my parents house for dinner and then headed home. It was a nice getaway weekend!

Catch Up Time

Sorry everybody! I just realized today that I have not posted ANYTHING in a month!! And so much has happened. I'll break it down by event. It's going to be a long night! lol.

Update

Wow, it is crazy how fast time flies by! Jesse and I have just finished a round of classes and have already started the next round. We did not get a break in between. :( It's been awhile since the last post and I don't remember when it was that we had our weekend adventure with our dogs. We wanted to spend time with them on a Saturday, but we wanted to get out of the house. We decided to go to a dog park over in Round Rock. The pups had a blast and we had fun too. They were running around smelling all sorts of things. They wouldn't even slow down for a sip of water. The best part was when we got home. It was so cute. I was preparing dinner and I looked over on the couch and Jesse, Molly, and Rowdy were out! They were just absolutely pooped!

Here's Rowdy just prancing around. He is always camera ready!

Molly has grown so much and has become so beautiful. She has a beautiful coat and it looks great in the wind!

Here's Dad and the kids! ;) so cute!

We also had our address painted at the end of our driveway. We were both very excited about this. This is what it looks like now!

GO EXPRESS!!!!

The Round Rock Express are on a winning streak!!!!! They have won the last 5 games! This now puts them in 1st place for the PCL American South Division!!! This is very exciting since they had such a shaky start. Yes, they won their season opener, but it was quickly downhill from there. I'm so glad to see them going out there and kicking butt!!! They have a great team this year and I know that they will be able to keep it up! Let's go boys!

Pictured above is Yordany Ramirez. He is an outfielder for the Express. Right now, he has one of the best batting averages in AAA with a .366!! AMAZING!!!!

One year later, and yummy still!

One year later, and it's time to pull the cake topper out of the freezer. Unwrapping the cake was the hardest part. I don't remember who wrapped it up. It had to be my mom or grandmother. Either way, it was really hard to get all the wax paper and ceran wrap. Once we got it opened we were able to try it. We were both a little nervous and worried about how it would taste. Luckily though, it was pretty good! The cake part was a little dry, but what can you expect after being frozen for a year? The best part was the frosting! It was so good!

Here's the cake in ceran wrap. The frosting was falling off of the cake because of the ceran wrap.
Here we are feeding each other!
It got a little messy! haha
Whoops!

Yeah, so we're kind of obsessed...

So0o0o Jesse and I have pretty much become obsessed with the Express. We have started to go to a game almost every night if we don't have anything else going on. We have suckered a few people into going to the games, and we have also ran into friends at the game! We also went to a Question and Answer session with 4 of the express players and then watched Sandlot at the Alamo Drafthouse. It was with pitchers Jeremy Johnson, Ryan McKeller, Tyler Lumsden, and catcher Lou Santangelo. We actually learned a lot of neat things about them. For example, Ryan McKeller graduated from Pflugerville! Here are a few pictures.

Here's Mark Saccomanno up to bat!

Round Rock Express

Sorry that we have not written in a while. We have been busy with school work and express games! For Christmas I bought Jesse the Fireworks package for our local affiliate team to the Houston Astros, Round Rock Express. The Fireworks package is for every Friday night game and a few games here and there. We have found ourselves at the games at least once a week when they are in town. It's great fun and we love it! We sit right behind the visitors dugout so we have a great view and a ton of opportunities to catch foul balls. This is the view that we have from our seats. Pretty awesome! We love it!

Utah, Day 4

Day 4 was the day we flew home! I was really sad to be leaving. I loved the mountains so much and just couldn't get enough! So0o0o... I was taking pictures on the way to the airport and while on the plane. Jesse thought it was silly, but was nice enough to let me continue with my 'mountain with snow' obsession. Geez how I love that man! One thing that we were looking forward to when getting home was natural heat from the sun! haha... needless to say, when we got out of the airport in Austin I had to pull my jacket out. :( Either way, it's nice to be home!

Utah, Day 3

Sunday was day 3! Part of the reason we went to SLC was to attend General Conference. We had a great time and it's always nice to have reassurance in everything that we do for the Lord.

That evening we went to Temple Square to take pictures while the sun sets. The flowers were in full bloom and everything was gorgeous! It was beautiful! Here are pictures from that.
