Halloween!!!

Jesse & I decided it would be fun to dress up while we passed out candy, so we decided to be nerds. We had fun and even bought some new decorations for the yard. I loved the little trick-or-treaters.

We had Spiderman come to our door and Spiderman was so cute!! I gave Spiderman some candy and then he said "Excuse me ma'am, I'm not really Spiderman. This is just a mask." I pretended to be surprised and he continued to say, "Yeah, I'm just a kid" in a super cute voice.

October Wedding #3 - Mr. & Mrs. Sessions

Jesse has remained very close friends with his buddies from high school. This past weekend Jesse's friend Michael was married to his wonderful sweetheart, Rachel. The outdoor ceremony was gorgeous (complete with a violinist) and the weather was perfect! We had a blast with everyone that was there. Also, since the wedding was on Jesse's birthday, his friend's mom Debbie made a small birthday cake for him and everyone sang to him. He was so surprised and never expected a thing! Overall, it was a great night!!

Six Flags with Jessica

My amazing Mom had 2 free tickets to six flags and was nice enough to give them to me! Since Jesse was out of town for a bachelor's weekend for his best friend I took my friend Jessica. We had a blast! I forgot how much I love to ride roller coasters! The most exciting part about it was that we went during their Fright Fest so a lot of people wore costumes and the park was decorated for Halloween. My favorite decoration was the red water that they dyed in the park!! Here are a few pictures of our fun day!

Jessica, Tweety & me!

Face painting of candy corn! I felt like a little kid again!

Here's the red water!

More scary decorations!

Drumline, LIVE!

For Jesse's birthday this year I got us tickets to go see a traveling band/drum line. The band involves the best of the best from universities in the South. Jesse played on his high school drum line when he was in high school, so he really enjoyed listening to everything they brought to the stage. Unfortunately we couldn't take pictures in the performance center, but the band marched through the theater to outside and played some more for an encore performance. It was so neat!!! Seeing these talented people perform really makes me appreciate live bands like this all over again.

Joyce's Reception

Joyce's reception was simple and gorgeous! I didn't get many pictures of the bride though. :( Either way, she was lovely and we all had a blast!

The Night Before Joyce's Big Day...

As many of you know, Jesse's sister Joyce is getting married tomorrow and we are so excited for her! The male and female groups of the Nicholas family has a tradition of getting together the night before for dinner and just plain fun. It's always a blast and full of laughter, especially when Aunt Tami is there. (Yes, there's your shout-out and yes, I'll post more often just for you. hehe Love You!) Tonight we went to Carinos. Here's a few shots I got of the ladies tonight.

I love this picture! This is before we all left for dinner. The cute baby is Aubrey. She belongs to Jeff and Karris. Aubrey is full of smiles and so cute! As you can see, everyone thinks she is adorable as well.

We are hoping she smiles normal tomorrow. Only time will tell. haha

Can't wait for tomorrow!!

A Parade, Wedding, Good Deed, and Pumpkin Carving...

Yes, all in two days!

This weekend was so much fun! We started Saturday morning by attending the parade for Hutto Old Tyme Days Festival. It's so neat because the parade goes through our neighborhood, so we literally just got up and walked down the street.

That evening we went to a beautiful wedding for my cousin. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I'll have to steal pictures others later. This is wedding 1/3 for October!!

Sunday morning Jesse helped these random guys move their car off the the major road 79 in Round Rock. This road is very busy and dangerous. I couldn't help but to take a picture of my awesome husband!

On Sunday, Jesse and I carved pumpkins. This has become a tradition at our house. It's not competitive, but it's fun to be like a kid again! Which pumpkin do you think belongs to whom? ;)

This was a perfect weekend to the beginning of fall. I love this time of year!!

Our life in the last few months

Many great things have been happening here in our little family of two. As many of you know, I became unemployed about this time last year. Since that happened, I have started working again in the accounting field. Jesse resigned from his job of three years and started working elsewhere. He's been there for 5 months now, and has already received a promotion! I'm very happy and proud of him for the hard work. To celebrate we went out and bought a brand-spanking new 2011 Scion Xb. Jesse has wanted one for years and he finally has his toy! Here's a picture of the day we brought our new baby home! :)

We were lucky to have some friends come visit us for Labor Day Weekend. We had a blast while they were here!

We have had a great end to a nice summer and are looking forward to fall. I already have our fall decorations around the house! I hope everyone out there is doing great too!!

Top Ten Guilty Pleasures

10. Pretzel M&Ms
This is the best idea since sliced bread! It's the perfect combination of salty and sweet that we, as human beings, crave. I didn’t think it would come to this-that it would be this hard to not eat the whole bag. My thoughts are that all M&Ms are at least average or above and I expected these to be somewhere on that spectrum. I do enjoy a small bag of Peanut M&Ms from time to time, but usually M&Ms aren’t my favorite Go-To candy. These are different. It’s funny, I wasn’t really impressed with the first one I tried because I had just popped it in my mouth and chewed. Eh, nothing special, I thought. But, when I sucked the candy-coating off and the chocolate started to melt away and uncover the slightest saltiness…. Eureka!

9. Love Songs/Stories/Movies
I am a sucker for romanticism. As a result, I love love! I enjoy jamming out to love songs because it puts myself into such a happy mood every time without fail. I love hearing how couples met and hearing of their engagement stories. It's always so inspiring. And love movies, they tear me up. I can't watch any movie that has a love plot without crying or at least tearing up.

8. MTV's Real World
I have been watching the Real World for as long as I can remember. The idea of this show is genius - let's put 8 strangers in one house, and watch. I find it amazing to see how people outside of my social realm handle situations that for the most part I will never find myself in. It's also interesting to see how close-minded some folks are.

7. Lazy Sundays
I love Sundays. It’s often my ONE day off from the gym. Some days I don't put on pants or shower all day. Some days I get groceries or go shopping, some days I’m glued to my couch. Some days we go on drives with no destination. But all I know is that Sundays are LAZY, completely and utterly lazy and I love it.

6. Britney
Yes, I know she doesn’t write all her songs. Yes, I am aware she is but a figurehead fronting a giant, money-making empire. But say what you want; when it comes to pop music, she’s got it. I reel at the genius of “If You Seek Amy”, I spin in glittery circles whenever I hear “E-mail My Heart”, I start bouncing up and down uncontrollably when I hear “Womanizer”. Listen to my (guilty) pleasure and you can hear the forefront of pop. Ms. Spears does it, people copy it. Mandy Moore did, Christina Aguilera did, and now there’s Katie Perry and Lady Gaga – auto-tuned, multi-layered vocals sang over hard-hitting synths and electro dancehall beats — tell me I’m lyin’!

5. Wingstop - Garlic Parmesan
Garlic Parmesan wings from Wingstop are like none other out there. I have a permanent wing craving, and nothing will satisfy it except these.

4. Candles
Candle are what gets me from month to month, holiday to holiday. Jesse isn't a fan of my candle obsession. There is just something special about the ambiance of candles. Different scents can put you into different moods and can bring back many memories.

3. Fake Phone Conversations
I can't help it, but when I'm in a hurry or see somebody that I know but don't really wanna talk to that day I pretend to be on my phone. It works, makes me feel guilty, but it sure can be a pleasure.

2. Cosmopolitan
Cosmopolitan is probably most well know for its sexy covers, sex related articles and yearly male centerfold, but it contains varied articles and features relating to many women issues. Cosmo is my favorite magazine and I always read it cover to cover. It's also fun to read because some women are plain crazy when it comes to the dating world and I am so glad that I don't have to be part of that. Cosmo always has a section for married women now, and it's awesome! I love this magazine because it helps women to feel confident in who yourself and embrace individuality.

1. The Sims
My guiltiest and most embarrassing pleasure is playing Sims. Anytime I find myself with a few hours to kill, I will be on my laptop playing my favorite game. It's fun to create characters and then control their relationships and actions. It's probably the controlling-ness in my personality coming out that truly enjoys this interactive game. Probably not the best thing, but definitely not the worse!

Time to update again...

Jesse and I are sitting outside on the front porch right now talking about how it's been a while since the last time I updated this thing. I can't believe the summer months are almost over! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, working and going to school! We just reached the half way point for our bachelors degrees. We thought about taking a break from the hustle and bustle, but have decided to push on through and just get it over with!! We keep laughing about how we won't know what to do when school is over because we will have so much more free time. Just the thought of going to sleep before midnight is exciting for us!

Anywho, I have pictures from 4th of July that I will put up shortly. That's about the only thing we have done this summer that doesn't include a textbook! :P

Choke Canyon State Park

Last weekend we went camping at Choke Canyon State Park with my parents, my brother, and my grandparents. It was really humid, but luckily we stayed in cabins that had air conditioning!! The guys had a blast because all day Saturday they went fishing! They caught a ton of catfish and we even had a fish fry that same night.
